clarity is the genius of existence

clarity is the genius of existence

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

clarity is the genius of existence

and the years in serpentine appearance

muddled retrospect,

once the clarity of longevity of love

now ashes lie next to each other

in urns turned towards the sunsets

and nature's whispers bow to the memory

of old flames once shooting stars

in pristine sky of youth

then raising youth

then being razed by the very hand that made them

unmade bodies

years spent bound hand in hand

then minds floating away together

love never really dies

because souls always have forever

in which to dance.

Those last few lines send this piece soaring.
Refreshingly, stark imagery and a few harsh-but-true references along the way do not result in ultimate cynicism.
Cannot help but view "Clarity..." with great affection. Eloquently and elegantly, Jacob, you've dispensed spiritual reassurance!

Forever is just the invisible now-where movement and dance is part of the journey-🌹
I especially like the raised and razing lines. Powerful imagery. I must confess I am somewhat confused by the last two lines. I feel like there is a word missing. Perhaps that is intentional?

No problem. Your work is generally error free so I thought there might be a small glitch
