what looks better unseen

what looks better unseen

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

what looks better unseen

appealing looks,

repealing shadows of heart

scintillating imagination

catches the eye of the mind

but then the sun ends its comic relief

the moon dances alone

she was pretty once

until he opened the shades

withdrew the curtains

saw her reflection

deep inside the mirror

of his intellect

appealing looks

became revealing considerations

when she opened her mouth

and spoke a fluent language of lies

A goo looking person who lacks intelligence loses some of their appeal when you find they have and empty mind. Also an empty heart makes for unattractiveness no matter how beautiful the wrapping is.

Just whose truth are we talking? BUT you are right behind those glasses everything is rosy. I m sure Pandora's box was exquisite!

thank you for your kind words, Julie.

Anyone who judges a person on their looks is shallow. They count for nothing in my book. Of far greater importance and far more revealing is what comes out of their mouth and what lies in their heart. Agree entirely and that works both ways. You could replace the she with he. Thought provoking write Jacob.
