what looks better unseen

what looks better unseen

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

what looks better unseen

appealing looks,

repealing shadows of heart

scintillating imagination

catches the eye of the mind

but then the sun ends its comic relief

the moon dances alone

she was pretty once

until he opened the shades

withdrew the curtains

saw her reflection

deep inside the mirror

of his intellect

appealing looks

became revealing considerations

when she opened her mouth

and spoke a fluent language of lies

You are welcome Jacob.
Well writ. One must travel several seasons to know another's character and even then our own nature can be suspect when unexpectedly we find we didn't know ourselves as we thought. I've had a couple for friends turn and betray me after 30 years. They call it going different paths or growing apart. I call it fear, not love.

Whether spouses, family or good friends, folks continually surprise. We must watch what others do not what they say. We must be the friend who hopes for the best and believes it even when rejected, standing ready to forgive. "To err is human, to forgive divine."

The beauty is always there .We are always reminded of the beautiful sight and perhaps wish for that sight alone and create a memory anew .
It (although selfishly) relieves my pain to know that the same troubles others . However we grow and express and understand. Thank you for sharing J. And I appreciate the time you take to look into others work and ways of expression such as my own .

HOw rough tongues spoil their beauty on the outside, a case of a rotten apple to the core.

No matter how warm the embrace, character always matters.
A fact lovers ignore at their own peril.
Gratifying read.

OMG....this is immediately identifiable. It can be immediate as well, scoping out the woman or man at the bar, thinking he/she is attractive or has that something quality that you might want to get to know. But then it happens, and you can't put distance between you fast enough. these relationships you describe take time to come to this scene but when they do, Ohhh my.....Great piece my friend!

When a person we thought was beautiful turns out to be a liar, our perception of that person changes. They become something we wish we hadn't seen. It is a sad day, that realisation

There is no personal who never tell a lies. We judging others by our nature. We always think we know and do best then others. How many reviews here on this site to want make feel another person like worthless person. Each hu,an have diffirent nature and mission on the earth. There is no simple definition of good or bad person. We are far too complicated and quiet surrreal . I find there is good some people just avoid and let them be at they way how they are. When we start to judge we get same low level like person who make us to judge. I can say I judge people just privately at my thoughts and sometimes I make poem like this . Good expression and poem can make people think we'll done.
