A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

in the box

interrogate me tonight

i might be in the mood

to poem you some answers

yet shallow as they may be

i will never let you look inside me

i will rot in the cell

before you are privy to my themes

my replies will border on obscurity

but in the abstract hours

there may be some clues

may be some accessibility

some vulnerability

a chance for you

to break my heart's case

or maybe,

you will just thank me for my time

the few syllables

the rhyme

give me leave

to confess to my keyboard

and grant my own reprieve.

Interrogate me tonight; I might be in the mood to poem you some answers--reminds me of early times in a marriage when there is struggle and strain.
Congratulations! You just turned a noun into a verb...

Your poem reflects the fear of a heart once torn apart.
It’s hard to trust another soul enough to truly let them in.
Very nice read!
Resa. :)

Beautifully honest. Will we ever give ourselves completely, or just slightly enough? Love the final verses dear author.
