small spillsA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertosmall spills coffee
shop conversations writing on napkin
parchment because words spoken
aloud feel shallow a modest attempt to make
connection when hearts hang on
introspection not interrogation of muses trying to hold
hands the waitress passes by lips sealed, she knows what is
happening she senses the tip
coming and it’s not a monetary
donation it’s a feeling of fusing as two people stare into
each other’s thoughts pens poised minds leaning she smiles imagines pouring a poem into their cups… erin-cilberto 7/20/19 © 2018 jacob erin-cilbertoReviews
