incarceration's portraitA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoincarceration's portrait restitution
for forgiveness is like prostitution of
impunity there is a sinister
smile in the heart when it knows we are
undone it beats, sardonically
scintillated because it understands each pulse is punishment for the reckless abandon of youthful excursions
into love and now as the beats
slow themselves to a bare trace it is your face that intercedes and makes me think
yesterdays with you might have been a crime well worth the sentence. erin-cilberto 7/1/18 © 2018 jacob erin-cilbertoReviews
