maybe there was a bid, once

maybe there was a bid, once

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

maybe there was a bid, once

vanishing words

lip reading dust

the parchment a dank, blank

sterilized encroachment

invading my space of delivery

when actuality is

the order was canceled

before i sat down

to write

and i am but

a silent auction

of second hand syllables

that should be given away.

It's sometimes hard to reconcile your message, which trickles out like a dwindling spirit, with your overall strength of concept & skill (powerful underpinnings for half-hearted observations) *smile* Fondly, Margie

All teachers, from teachers who teach first grade to university lecturers are called " professors ; professora( female) professor ( Malé) here in Brasil. You are a "professor de inglês ( English)" and your poems are absolutely beautiful with such a perfection. You will never be second hand in any thing.

It's My pleasure
Please never second-think yourself j.. Your writing is priceless. No bid would do it justice. Please do not ever devalue yourself or your iconic work. Monetary values/bids are levied by corporate greed machines. They have no souls. They are no poets.

So glad to hear! You are very welcome j.
'the order was cancelled before I sat down to write'. that is such a huge disappointment, but you know what Jacob, that is someone else's loss, not yours and your poetry far from second hand syllables.

I think we all have those harsh feeling about ourselves, especially when we feel alone.
Brilliant way to describe such dark thoughts.

Not true but such a brilliant idea. The irony of this excellent piece is not lost on me.
