unfurled intersectionsA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertounfurled intersections morning glories rise on a dew dropped dawn but Old Glory weaves its
understated forlorn fluttering while what it represents drowns in indifferent
derision we have to make that
decision re-seam what seems to be
de-threading the flag raise the mast topple the tangent
torrential insistence inciting the arbitrary
unrest and let Old Glory drift
high in the sky of relevance once again like a kite needing no
strings attached to return to favor on its own. and sew opposite skies
into one. erin-cilberto 5/23/18 © 2018 jacob erin-cilberto |
