tossing the old ones aside

tossing the old ones aside

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

tossing the old ones aside

trust the stone

(if there is much moss congregated)

age, wisdom

a stone's throw

skipping upon a pond

of insight

the green ones

skip farther

even when the mind

can't go much further.

dear Jacob... I especially like “trust the stone
if there is much moss congregated”... this speaks of wisdom and learning through the years and tears. “Age and wisdom skipping on a pond of insight”. A time of reflection. truly, Pat

thank you for your words, Pat.

Stone doesn't gather much moss until it slows down--and if old age is anything, it's a slowing down.
Here's to the greenest stones!

yes,it's a slowing down, for sure.

Skipping on the pond of insight means bouncing back , not sinking. This is how ripples of wisdom develop.

great poem as always , but so unlike the you i have met on here to throw an old non green one away...
but hey that is reality...
i am always the one tossed aside... understandably so this particular poem upsets only me...

I must be able to skip miles then Jacob, problem is I can't remember where I am or where I've been... you haven't seen me around have you?? point me in the right direction, wherever that is????? at least when I lie down, this green makes for a nice cushion...

your poem has everything Jacob, water, moss, stones, wisdom and placed in just the right way, you have one of Jacob's fine artistic ceations.... I tthink I'm jealous my friend...
