tis a real nuisance jacob, but hey always a treat to visit your pages....... Neville
So pleased my little poem "In Spirit" inspired this wonderful write from you Jacob. I particularly like the title you have chosen. Yes, there are many silent screamers buried out there in life. Ones who wish they could catch the comet's flare, knowing full well they haven't got a chance in hell. Your final two lines resonated.

dear Jacob... I had inscribed on my Mother’s Stone “Close to my heart I hold each precious thing the sweet day yields... until God gives us Spring”... a quote from a famous poet. My Mother also lives on in me, and I do scream for her a lot in many ways. Amen... truly, Pat

Carry on my Mother’s presence... there are quiet screams to let the world know that caring for people is always worthwhile. Amen
I think it's one of the saddest things that we too often cannot say what we feel about someone... and yes, our screams buried deeply when they should be shouted or whispered softly to someone...
Jacob, your metaphores are never silent, nor do they scurry around, they grab hold of us and don't let go... I have missed your poetry Jacob...

Though not really related, this piece brings to mind Rod Steiger's performance in "The Pawnbroker."
His silent scream is still being heard.
Haunting poem, Jacob!

A sort of life in death epitaph. I read somewhere that poets only succeed after death. It was certainly true of John Donne and Emily Dickinson. But it's the body of work, the oeuvre, that is left behind that concerns the poet more than a book or a play I believe. The "silent screamers" is an interesting depiction of how we all feel at times I think; trying to express great magnificent things that words just shrink down to nothing. I enjoyed the read.
