trying to hear your lips move

trying to hear your lips move

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

trying to hear your lips move

subtle subtitles

the writing on the wall barely audible

but i can almost hear it with my aging eyes

my fingers want to respond

but the keys paint useless graffiti

on white pages of storming thoughts

i am a hurricane

of illusive phrases

sitting idle

wishing i could read

the signs

or perhaps make some up

my-

self...
