Caught in the “engagement” of the moment.. a poem, an account of overwhelming yet innocent immediacy-young love in the shelter of an old car “I lassoed your scent with my imagination..”- fantastic line and evocative, tender words- tender as “the nape of your neck”. A foggy vignette on the rear window, before the frost. Superb write.
I have enjoyed your work today my friend.
"i lassoed your scent
with my imagination
and then fell into a chasm of foolish engagement
all the while betrothed to the idea"
The above lines. Solid and wonderful. Thank you Jacob for sharing your amazing poetry and your thoughts.

You are welcome Jacob. I enjoyed your work tonight.
If I recall some old cars didn't have a heater but it couldn't of been any hotter that day and so it still is. very vivid and very intense in such few words. Could say it was a compact car to fit all that in just as the words to this write. If I were to grade this, I'd have to give it an A. for skill and craftsmanship.
"we kissed away full moons
which seemed within our adolescent grasp"/
what a way to expound upon the passing of time; a herb mixture that is cooked with a dish and removed before serving. Time is but a signaling apparatus, an alarm if you will brother, that let us know that
something meaning or totally unmeaning has occurred....Nice/ dana
Your little vignette is startling in it's originality! I was feeling every sensation along the way. The middle stanza is some of the most expressive & imaginative writing I've ever seen! Amazing! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
Great title. A casket full of roses, that conjured up an ending to start with. I love the line " I lassoed your scent", so original. A familiar tale of how a romantic moment can disappear into the ether, only to resurface from the sea bed years later. I have those moments too.

your reply is poetic, and better than the poem itself, thank you, Christine.
