in the belly of the night

in the belly of the night

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

in the belly of the night

a blue moody sun

responds sullenly to dusk

as a half smile emerges in its place

the teeth of an indulgent contentment

levees the tears of yesterday's broken dreams

as sifting clouds

start to shield the almost imperceptive grin

inside.

I like the idea of digging a hole and burying the days crap into it.
Then just as you feel that nice state of contentment, you remember something you need for tomorrow is at the bottom of the hole. You just have to grin.

Sometimes contentment only needs halves and not wholes it’s the peacefulness and softness if that release of breath and the sigh that explains all- total bliss and harmony inside where all is just ok for that place in time- serenity - just wonderful🌹

The closing embers of another day – had it been a wasted one? Perhaps - or not – the half smile could be an optimistic one hoping for a brighter tomorrow!
Well Jacob – look what your sweet write has sparked in my imagination – always a pleasure to read (and contemplate)! - :-)
