it was a Crush of MadnessA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoIt was a Crush of Madness dazzled by moonlit spells arched words shot by poisoned keys in retrospect we hunted bosoms of maternal instinct survival of the strongest carrying signs marching to Ravel to death to spasms of incorrigible intangibles lasting a decade mounting energy capsized encapsulated by failing light as morning woke from hibernation and the wolves wept in silence as they watched from depleted hills and caught the scent of exhausted vegetation withering against a song of sightless lyrics written by pens darkened with irreverence and we danced around campfires lit by stoked matches of optimism and then the record stuck groovy voices, interns of movement never graduated, but became still as the quiet moon that once watched us with hopeful eyes. erin-cilberto 5/15/1o © 2018 jacob erin-cilberto |
