the friendly drop

the friendly drop

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the friendly drop

lovely poison

eyes dilated by her somber bones

lying in wait for the end

we kiss deep into the shallows

of my submissive heart

i am aware of her label

but i drink intensely

consequences never have an expiration date

we return lips to their rightful place

even if no breath emerges between them.

consequences never have an expiration date hmmm it makes me wonder why consequences always pop up automatically when we make wrong moves in life.

And consequences can be deadly and have an everlasting affect- not nice to face but again choices? Sometimes we know what’s best but somehow cannot do it!!! Intense read🌹

appreciate your read and the words.

I don't know why I got the feeling that You were speaking of Your relationship with Your muse, how she fails You sometimes, but You know so well that You can't live without her, and her well of inspiration... even in sad times or in painful ones, there is a "poem" which will come at the end.
