the scream of silenceA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertothe scream of silence footnotes sound a little grating to the heart irrelevance is not a
sweet melody when spring arrives and we grow apart two sad trees avoiding the blue sky
cry in earnest singing our own songs in soundproof rooms of
retrospect but i do remember
tapping my foot to our beat once we danced on a
stage of light our audience of friends
asked for an encore but we were already
gone, and the slightest breeze
of reconciliation was just orange, red and
gold memories lying in dispatch while we gathered tears like they were falling
leaves with voices mute. erin-cilberto 3/11/18 © 2018 jacob erin-cilbertoReviews
