diplomatic solutions in reaction to surprise plot twists

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

diplomatic solutions in reaction to surprise plot twists

the sun is assumption ruptured

clouds are fictitious stories

dramatically induced tears

words constructed to find our gardens watered

roses lean their heads to the light

with ambassador smiles

and we fall for the endings

that bloom in our minds

but dodge the truth with effective mirth

laughing is lightning in a storm of inert love

there is suddenly movement

do you see me through the rain

i am reaching out like a splintered limb

numb from the strike.

I had this experience a couple days ago -- trying to be diplomatic, but I got unfriended, so it musta been a fail. I love your word crafting: "dodge the truth with effective mirth" and "laughing is lightning in a storm of inert love" . . . your imagination must hang out in a place I've never been! *smile* Fondly, Margie

Upon reading this piece and it's title, my mind seemed to automatically think about this upcoming meeting between Trump and Jong-Un...like it is a realistic reflection of your poem and its words....looking for diplomacy due to surprising circumstances.

It was probably not your intention but that was my initial thought. But yes; whether it is in politics, life or love, we are often fooled and misled by the words we are fed. And upon discovery or realisation of the real truth we are shocked and numbed to the core.

As always, wonderfully written with your metaphors striving for even greater heights. If that is possible! An excellent piece, Jacob.

Calling this piece "pleasing obscurity" would be a diplomatic solution.
While I really have only the foggiest, your poem does--as do almost all your poems-- portray a metaphorical majesty.
Enjoyed the read!

A brilliant portrayal of the deception so innate to politics, Mr. Jacob. Appreciated very much.

Obfuscation hides a multitude of sins, In politics, it's called diplomacy. In real life, we are just left bemused. Your cryptic analogies are an appropriate riposte to the perpetrators. Thanks, Jacob.

So any are blind to pain that nature endures because it is so resilient. One day it will finally turn on us to protect itself.

Spectacular poem sir.
