Priceless Junk

Priceless Junk

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Priceless Junk

you were sadly expensive

a greedy relevance in my life

until the funds ran out

as well as the fun,

smiles, and a heart's trust

is free, until we can't get it back

then it becomes a rare artifact

auctioned off to another,

and we count the emotions we have left

realizing,

love has priced itself out of

range

in counterfeit posture.

Your poem eloquently addresses a sad truth about many women doing the love game with a scorecard measured in dollars! *sigh* I love all your clever twists of phrase: "until the funds ran out, as well as the fun" and I'm ashamed to say I played this game for awhile too! *sigh!* Fondly, Margie

It is amazing how pricey things become junk over time or we realize we thought it was pricey but was a counterfeit all along. What an analogy you provide here beloved poet. Priceless...
