For me, this is not only a poem about Love, but about someone who lives in his own private world, inside his mind and imagination, I don't see him as an ill person, but a one who is genius, a genius mind works so differently from all the rest, that's from where the loneliness comes, there is a quietness felt in Your words, that quietness which comes from being an absolute believer in oneself, even if no one is believing in You, and from the surrendering and acceptance, another image I have in my mind, a soldier in a battlefield facing death, his emotions how they would be, his thoughts and words, how it might be if he survived or not... something inside him is wounded, no matter what.
a very interesting piece, one filled with sadness and loneliness.
I love all of it.. but this line..

ps the gods of love never do give much assurances do they?! nor are they trustworthy insurance ... required to deny deny deny until one gives up or they in irreverent irritability .. give in ;)
Amazing word choices between health, love and healing. The rehab part also is out of this world. The way to tie all these concepts together in a short poem is amazing and worthy.
I guess dear brother that we, no matter the diagnosis, have to stand for something. In fact, we never really get well enough to love another human. That's why they have the Olympics I guess. So that those who can, can twirl against the backdrop of the cold perhaps. Only the winners get the flowers in the end. dana
