love in the arctic watersA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
within
the icicles pictures of you frozen
into my mind the points sharp, they dazzle, then fall
to my ground like spikes of
realization
you were cold once, and my heart warmed
yours until it didn't, then we both hung suspended
on night's eave
the morning sun,
dazzling with yesterday's regrets melted the atmosphere
between us but just enough for the points of hurt
to sharpen and spear us into
oblivion's wake.
