love in the arctic waters

love in the arctic waters

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

love in the arctic waters

within the icicles

pictures of you frozen into my mind

the points sharp,

they dazzle, then fall to my ground

like spikes of realization

you were cold once,

and my heart warmed yours

until it didn't,

then we both hung suspended on night's eave

the morning sun, dazzling with yesterday's regrets

melted the atmosphere between us

but just enough

for the points of hurt to sharpen

and spear us into oblivion's wake.

Such a bittersweet painting. Images tugging at ones emotions. Warm days frozen in time forever no matter the outcome. I like this.

You are very welcome my friend.
Ouch... the pain as if dripping off this poem... J.
Such a beautiful image you paint, yet its just the pain that stands out...even if we turned cold...even if we close our eyes, some images and memories are hard to forget...

thank you for your kind words, Galadriel.

This is certainly not superman’s hangout but a barren, cold desolate place worse than the lonely heart’s club where icy cold winds of regrets hit home on two fronts.
