Still Carrying your Books in my MindA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
a
reprimanded student of love detention with no touch
lips mumbling alone not touching other lips
the essay disorganized feelings full of
fragmented refuge
calling your name from
the principal's office empty hallways answer
my own voice the textbook, heartbreak
echo
studied your heart for
nothing I would never graduate
into your life.
