secret santaA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertosecret santa
there are flies in the
pantry opened wounds scar tissue wrapped in red ribbon a bow on the heart damaged goods Kleenex eyes absorbed too much blood
now there is a weak
sense of self dying seems a present
scheme but a future gift to end the nightmares
reindeer don't dance to
this tune the record plays
at slow speed and reminds with every note that
buzzes in the clipped wing memories that can never fly away.
