institutionalized intentionA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoinstitutionalized
intention
frigid
footsteps sliding sanctuary uneasy movement through
life stutter step strait
jacket why are we always in a
cold snap with logic
what has frozen
love the wind chill in your
eyes numbs my bones a nation of freezing rain
slippery conditions of
hearts with no traction biased bereavement of
the old flower children
forced to grow up in a
world as archaic amputees the frostbitten evidence of something that grew
in the sun years ago
and now sits in a
deserted greenhouse of icicle plants.
