A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

magnetically mistaken

impressions,

response elicited

movement of heart,

directions contemplated

expectations,

response elicited

movement of heart,

separate paths initiated

Magnetically, opposites attract and likes repel.
Romantically, relationships that tend to last are often the reverse.
If only we could know, for sure, when the same path should be "initiated."
Unique bit of work!

thank you for your words, Jimmy,

A poem about "thinking" you might be attracted to someone? Maybe, thinking oneself into believing there is attraction, but when learning about the person realizing they are not the fantasy one hoped for? I don't know, just my take. I enjoy thinking poems through. Great job of making me think! Cheers.

Raw perfection, J? An original, fitting metaphor and brevity packed into one piece. Good one, sir!

Very different stimulii and heartbeats-relational arrhythmias perhaps. Very different responses. So much for ‘Pavlov’ when it comes to ‘real love’. Witty, profound, genius metaphor always!
