i squaredA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
you
were a calculated risk my math was too brisk and invariably
unreliable
i was a supposed sum of what damage you could
multiply when you wanted to,
the X and the Y and now i wonder why i was drawn into your
equation when my senses surely
surmised
i would end up an imaginary number
in your conscience
and a negative one
in mine.
