denim dreamA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
you
were so casual in your advance i was willing to throw
formality aside to love you,
we kissed in jeans and
t-shirts tousled lips met awkwardly at first but patches on previous
memories don't cover the wear so
well
and clearing out the
pockets of previous petals doesn’t mend the
love-me-not's enough
your ease became my unease and I held you
pretentiously at first but the conversation of oscillation gradually got off the
cuff enough for us to effect a
comfort
meant to be worn
forever. erin-cilberto 12/18/17 © 2017 jacob erin-cilbertoReviews
