semantic derivatives

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

semantic derivatives

you are my soft demeanor

the other side of chaos

my heart's balance

you are the interruption

in my series of heartbreaks

love's recomposed incentive,

when incentive has absorbed itself

in raucous undoing

the half-smile

longing for your half to make us whole

the nodding word

to my interrogative longing

i am a question,

you, the answer

if only you would change

my punctuation

to an exclamation point

my dejection

would turn happy interjection

and our sentence, complete.

This is one of my new favorites of your semantic sussings! To me, this is tightly crafted as more linear than most of yours, so my methodical mind is getting it big time! *wink! wink!* Love the 2nd & 3rd stanzas, especially! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

What a literally brilliantly crafted literary composition for all us would be wordsmiths, authors and poets out here to consider, when we think about and write about love....Another great write jacob...N

It take two to make a conversation. Well, sometimes. But it's nicer that way anyways. I've turned my question marks into exclamation marks before. What a monstrosity. Less embarrassing though.

I guess more eye contact is in order for all of us. Hard to raucously undo such a connection when two souls intertwine, intimately, in such ways. I find it hard to do this with the same sex though. Let's not dwell into that self psychology. Something's are better not conversationed about.

Enjoyable as always. Thanks for sharing.

As always expressive and filled with thoughtful emotional phrases and metaphors. How we become attracted to another and see them as making our lives complete. Been there too.
