Who's Next, Identified

Who's Next, Identified

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Who's Next, Identified

sidewalk surfin'

pick 'em truck

layin' them down

bike paths widened

flattened with smoldering skin

as bandage

the eclipse has finally hit us

there is no moon over the city tonight

just reckless rubber

with portal purpose meeting

frenzied faces

scurrying for cover

in parallel streets

Paris re-happens

London re-happens

life re-happens

death re-happens

blame it on the pit bull

who lay in the previous doghouse

take that theory for a walk

it's a blame game of satisfaction

for the smiling, thumbs-up devil in disguise

semi-gravity lowers the boom again

and the sound is heard

ever closer

ever closer

ever closer.

An apt questioning of this brutal act told in wonderful pictorial metaphor. I think IS is now desensitising us all to their cause as we grow so accustomed to reading about and being vulnerable to, such acts of violence against the 'innocent'.
