A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

pour me another poem, please

she was just pieces of herself

lost nights

another bottle waiting for dawn

her guitar soaked with beer

and blank pages of her life

flames consumed what was left

she was just pieces of herself

and the blue tips

of those flames

the liquor cabinet

(almost empty)

would never give away her secrets

and the smoke filled residue

of her existence

was a few cursive poems

and a glamorous black and white photo

of her better days

before the puzzle began unraveling

and our hearts laid her to rest.

dear Jacob... we lived our dreams... but some went up in flames... yet memories live on and art can be found every where... “Pour me another poem” is what we ask for. Beautiful poetry. truly, Pat

You are most welcome
Writers, over thinkers, borderline personalities, artists, artists with addiction issues never say their stories in full, leaves their better days and the glimpse of their bad days and just simply stops their role play in life, really thought provoking poetry.

very good use of imagery that teases, taunts ,reel in and reel out the reader...a kind of crazy waltz and then the end...so please pour me a poem please.

That title line is the kind of brilliance that makes the rest of us feeble poets turn green. I love the kind of breathlessness of the pacing, as well as the clever extended metaphor & awesome imagery! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
