street corner renderingsA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertostreet corner renderings
indigent
feelings poorer prophecies of
dire happiness smiles for quarters
dropped in a guitar case
we kissed on the street
before we met my heart spent a fortune
on you a stranger
i wished to own that
guitar to play a song of
surprise and just to have you tip
me a "love you" even if you didn't mean
it and were really put off
by my threadbare demeanor
patches aren't beautiful but one surmise of
you is almost pretentious in the elegance of your
moment
even after the reality
disappears or if it never existed
i will play for you with or without the
guitar.
