floods of sadness

floods of sadness

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

floods of sadness

the ravaging ends

but the scars insinuate

memory will be awash

Indeed, the memory will be awash.

Another good senryu.

Sometimes those scars hurt more as time goes by. Three small lines packing a punch, Jacob. Lydi**

Some memories weather it's
losing a loved one or going
through a nightmare of abuse
It takes time to heal I've learned
from the abuse I endured
it's taking it's long time
to heal, time heals it can
be a difficult thing when
the heart is shattered.

Thank you for sharing
this lovely piece it put
me to tears.

I don't know that anyone can recover from a loss of that kind of depth. The scars will last a lifetime.

So little, speaks so much, I admire the way you craft messages, as only a poet can! To me, this speaks of the past and the future, the scars of the past but the optimistic approach of the future!

It is said 'scars are tattoos with better stories'. But, not all scars are visible. Like the thought here. Good one, j.

Sometimes we overcome hurt and/or sadness but at others it is so profound that it embeds itself in our DNA. You take senryu to another level Jacob.

you are kind John...thank you.
So profoundly true and beautifully written
...Yet sometimes there is the fairy of bitterness too and she'll ensure the memories are discounted and tossed into a common bin in a dim alley not oft visited.

You inspire with your words Mr. Jacob. The pleasure is therefore mine.
Extremely clever; deeply perceptive.
Such gigantic disasters require extended--almost never fully anticipated--recoveries.
A concise and lyrical message.
