A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

token interpretations

magic buses

on polluted highways

exhaust fumes from exhausted poets

high intensity traffic of themes

driven into the ground

the same ideas get on at each stop

every day,

ditto routes

ditto stops

ditto conclusions

each seat taken with the same faces of revolution

and the same tired lines

get off at the end of the day

no resolution.

Great poem, dude, didn't some great wise man once say "Insanity is doing the same thing every day and expecting a different result,"

Like the man said, there is no new thing under the sun. The best we can hope for is to say the same things, but in different ways. Unfortunately, those who write relationships poems find this concept hard to understand.

yes, and how many different ways are there?

just like how many chords are there?

No one said it was easy to be a poet. That's true for any endeavor worth pursuing. I'm guilty of similar themes which is why I've slowed down to a pause.

This poem is one I can relate to strongly when browsing this site. But, still, here I am.

Step outside the cat box
Let my SHEEPLE GO !!
Following the loudest leader
Seems to have lost it's verve .

You are welcome jacob...............:).....
The tired in this is almost overwhelming.
It reminds me of two things - the poem which includes the line 'Rage... against the dying of the Light' and a more modern take on it in the form of a digital dance track 'The Film's Cr*p - Let's Slash The Seats'.
A metaphorical masterclass Jacob.

So true – innovative and originality of thought takes practice; using all the senses – and yet – that is in itself - no guarantee! Still, you got to start somewhere … bless :-)

how do you take the same old feeling and present it differently, maybe dress it up a little, or offer a different point of view? so hard. we love, we hurt etc... these feelings are constant and to feel them is human. brilliant metaphors as always. i feel tired of the day in / day out sometimes. i think that's why for me going away and coming back is good
