the drownings not fake news

the praised service seems to be

hatred is like ugly algae 

skimming the surface, hard to see

the bottom,

but he goes there anyway

blind faith is being on roofs of circumstances

above the fray

yet still

carried away by wicked current

the healing is reeling

but the Marlin got away from the Old Man

in the end,

it seems respect is the fish

this angler

is losing his grip of

and that is real news.

Respect is a quaint and curious trait to the masses today where oversensitive ambiguity rules out true empathy and compassion. A once great hands on society is now a collection of blathering fools with hands on keyboards. The laying on of hands was once for healing. Today it merely means a probable protester or criminal is being arrested. How sad that we have lost so much of our will to help and encourage; to strengthen and dignify one another. The memory of the Old Man serves him well. Perhaps the great fish was not delivered but its bones bore the truth of a thing that was lost.
