less than friendly skiesA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
rifling
through the key board like looking for a lost
item in a piece of luggage i search words like my
heart some compartment has to
have the remnants of you still held intact,
the letters unlock
secrets but you remain hidden
from sight
never from mind, and i fly away from
myself in a cloud of disbelief
ticket in hand but your hand in
another's and my thoughts in first
class dominant, looking out the window
hoping to catch a
glimpse of what once was our
sky.
