Oscars are Overrated

Oscars are Overrated

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Oscars are Overrated

and the nominees

for best fatal attraction

are,

exes in black and white shorts

the brevity was no feature film

but much like "Gone with the Wind"

in posture

goodbye speeches

make an oration here

unnecessary

i hear the music playing

but

i've already left the stage

to murmurs

and jeers

and some tears

of support

but that's okay...

nominations by my peers

mean more than awards

after all, the memories

are just a plastic statue

representation of some magic moments

of drama

and black comedy

so i'll return to the seat of my expectations

and have another shot

but not until the next director

is willing to edit the script

and let me win

at the end of the film.

I wanted "Wonder Women" to end with her in love,
not fighting off the demons of destruction. In fact, were I a director, I think I would change just about every movie I ever watched..within which the political influence or personal interest alone will not make for interesting movie making..lol.

but that's ok. I would rather read than watch anyday anways....great poem...dana

if it were only so easy ... find a director ...write the happy ending ... sigh! divorce and breakups are more difficult than a death that separates i think ...so many times we have to meet that ex over and over again .. slicing open the wounds to bleed freshly ..:(

"Fatal Attraction'" relationships played out on a voyeuristic stage...rabbits boiling in pots...brilliant analogy used here. " I'll return to the seat of my expectations" yes "black comedy". Waiting for a sequel? For now, The King has left the building...You are The King!
