Sounds so like the first verse of a great song..."butterfly kisses"- so sensual..,"she found me again"- yay! Perfect Senryu.

Butterflies are amazing creatures, aren't they? I rarely see them, but when I do they truly engage me with their beauty and loftiness...just like this!

Treasured reverie captured in a lovely senryu.
Here, familiarity hardly breeds contempt.
Very nicely done, Jacob-san!

splendid ink that vividly weaves a tapestry of a flight of fancy of romanticism, leaving one's heart to flutter....beautifully written.

Illusion: a visual fallacy..

A thought triggered by a nudge perhaps, a nudge triggered by a thought perhaps. Words that jumped into your mind and reminded you of the meaning of succulent youth. Perhaps. Glorious and blissful, right or wrong, jacob.

isn't it odd ;) that only yesterday when i went out with my dogs i noticed laying on the ground the two wings of a butterfly ..black and yellow spotted patterns .. and thought how no one i know of has written a poem about their destruction ... any way .. not sure that applies here but i think its one of those "connectedness things .. the senryu in seeming opposition to the title lends a whole lot of the story ...such a thrill to be reengaged yet once more an illusion ... ;(

The poem depicts a love that has once again reunited. The title tells a different story. The hard truth that fantasies often replace disappointments and needs. Loneliness is a difficult pill to swallow when you are alone, and the pleasing, happy fantasies, dissolve in the cold light of day.

The title is wonderfully evocative, and the senryu is the just-so form for this, as it is so well-tailored to that certain breezy dreaminess that Spring and love, be it real or illusory, seem to bring down upon us.
