the King and Eye

the King and Eye

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the King and Eye

a liar's motif

thematically inclined to recline

away from the throne

vacant eyes tell no story

the cover up in the palace

but the King is elsewhere,

and everywhere

lest where he should be

the war is on

and no one is armed

to decipher truth from fiction

the novel's combustion

is based on a true story full of lies

foreign interference

deposits of a despot

aren't Czars a thing of the past

and is tar and feathering still a sport?

let's reintegrate it into the Olympics of Deception

our country will get the most Medals

let's not skirt the issue

Moscow wants to host

someone's molting

and the guns are twisted words

shot from a loose canon.

thank you, Julie.

I thought so, almost immediately.. the clues are strong and distinct. Like all your poetry, you use fine language, metaphorical this and that, yet.. strike the right chord re. the subject intended, jacob. How sad it must be to chain your creativity to such goings-on - but yet again you prove your skills.

The sad thing is this has been going on for decades, and that is a light estimation. Moving write.

thank you, Jon.

Its sad when the king is insincere and not fulfilling his duties. Especially in the face of inevitable war. I hope for the sake of everyone that it all ends well. A very compelling write...

i hope so too, DIVYA.
thank you.

They always say you're as safe as your computers defence. If some teenager can get in. It stands to reason, some government will definitely get in. But you're right. The world is run at a click of a button. It seems we can't go back to any basic manual means now. So the tit for tat will go on and on. Then someone will press a button, and really f**k us.

yes, they will...thank you for your words, Paul.

Your words are pointed and eloquent. How long before the regime’s supporters realize the truth of your words:

"the war is on
and no one is armed
to decipher truth from fiction”

We are living out the first great cyber war… and we are losing.

YVW. Thank you for your eloquence.
Wow Jacob reading this was like getting tossed about in a washing machine as the metaphors mix like caustic soap. The title is an eye catcher and the cynicism shines through in terms of political and the American way (ways of the world)
