resting in your dreamsA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
in ten
years, my urn will sit atop
your sill
you will still be my
window to the poetry of love although my ashes will
be writing twisted journals of fiery altercation
and putrid eradication will you sift through my
de-boned brain looking for clues as to how i saw right
through you?
will your understanding
finally be put to rest finding a half-full
box of combustible thoughts with nothing left to
read,
the charred remains of a
soul still in love always in love looking out that window with ashy eyes sparkling still from that sill
you can never burn
stagnate passion into submission, because it's immovable and still waiting---
even as the light
outside starts to set.
