more than wings

more than wings

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

more than wings

an imposing figure

your eyes as one,

tragically beautiful,

the fire within you consumes

as the fire without

i still stare at your complexities

as if you were real,

and standing near,

picking the strings of your guitar,

playing with your blond strands

of enticement

love advances planes

and i still fly in yours.
