I think we are sky bound; but being earth bound in life, we forget where we're headed. I'm so glad to live in the county where I can appreciate the stars. Living in the city doused their light in many more ways than one. Love this.

I grew up in the city as well, nothing as big as the Bronx for sure, but still the city. I love living in an agricultural area. The boughs reach for that quarry of stars, and one can't help but be drawn to that night sky.
Always figured any penance offered served to make the sinner feel better--as if he or she had, somehow, come closer to "squaring things." Didn't seem to me that God kept track of such things.
He appeared more interested in the purity of one's heart.

did you know that it's actually better to hike at night without a flashlight, the moonlight guides you. your eyes adjust. if you want to see the big picture, forget about the spotlight, you'll find your place among the stars regardless
