through the lens of a different eraA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
you
were my high-rise sweetheart fifth floor
blondness the breakfast lady with
a wink for me
as i stood in line for scrambled eggs and
side of affection
we were a Kodak moment in time, and 1971 temporarily
developed into a love story
until we were
overexposed you became a too-pretty
snapshot of yourself
i was looking for a new
place to live a new decade in which to find my next meal... and a new server with a different
exposure...
