prospectorA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
blurred
inferences dark glasses shelter a
burnt heart the seeing was
believing, but blind pupils don't
learn the intricacies of love enough to escape
the fractured retina with bleeding
vein
and gold isn't struck when the claim is naive
i was never focused emotionally, but now i am legally
immune to the feelings, carrying around the one
small gold piece of me that's left
as a souvenir of what i once
fearlessly sought...
