The connoisseurs of wine tell us with the passage of time the flavour matures, so maybe worth a trip down to the cellar, dust off a bottle and sample the theory!
if you still have the dust covers, and have a way to play the memories; turn up the volume and put the needle down.
I like the parallel of the individual returning to find what was, but its time to see if there exists "what is"

still have so much vinyl---and a pretty good turntable...but in life...lots of dust...:))) read morestill have so much vinyl---and a pretty good turntable...but in life...lots of dust...:)))
Brilliant work here J, just crackles on the vinyl but some things like music and past loves do live on in mind and how each chapter of our lives has a corresponding song to match those each and every moments we danced to.
Everything old is new again- music no exception. "Vinyl gathers dust but the grooves are still there"- great play on words and absolutely true!"Doing the math again"...with infinite possibilities of success. Good luck my friend!
Funny how some music never ages, well, in not in our minds. Same can be said for past loves, they are still the unlined, carefree souls in our memories, and then we meet them. Jeepers, its like they have morphed into their mothers whilst eating the entire contents of a bakery whilst in the metamorphosis process. S'pose they would say the same.
Sorry J, babbling. Enjoyed the read

vinyl is the best of all says i! nothing like the old tunes to sooth over harsh realities from the past ...my initial thoughts in reading was ... someone is thinking should i go? or should i not? ..to the universal reunion ;) your use of language always engages and inspires sir!

Strange how as we grow older we know some things are in antiquity but they are still in touch for us. Like the music we grew up with. In fact I had no idea who Ariana Grande was until last Monday, but I answered a question about Roy Orbison last night!

A negative and melancholy opening assessment that ends on an unmistakably hopeful note.
Have always been a sucker for that possibly happy ending.
One elegant creation, J.
