portrait of a sinner

portrait of a sinner

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

portrait of a sinner

i brush your skin, figuratively
with my age old hands
of yesteryear's pulse,
my heart beats faster at the thought

we melted into each other's mood
there was only quiet and touch
no need for words,

the poetry was in the sharing,
and it always felt
like a classic poem
writing itself in tactile allegory

and now...
the quill keeps moving
long after the feathered hands have

stilled.

Not sure "Portrait of a Sinner" is the best title for this incredibly lovely creation.
Purest poetry, Jacob!--couldn't be any better. (Except for the title, of course.)

thank you, Jimmy....:))))
"Like a classic poem writing itself in tactile allegory"-sensual and so tender. Touched me deeply. Highlighting the touching of hands-supremely profound and meaningful. "The poetry was in the sharing". Thank you so much for sharing Jacob-truly brilliant!

Like to think this reminiscence was of an old lover, maybe to close to home. But still stirring memories.

We write about memories so often. How much does the ink change? Did we really feel all those feelings or do we miss what never was? Hard to tell, but it all makes for great poetry and that is what counts! Lydi**

Those we connect with on a spiritual level and whom find a place in our hearts never really leave it; you've put that into words very beautifully. This was a very touching piece, indeed.
