A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

uneasy bib.com

i'm the hanging indent
on your Work Cited page
waiting for you to italicize my heart

get rid of the quotation marks
which make me only the smaller work
inside the container

since i am filled with you,
why not stronger inclusion?
and why am i always on the second line of your entry?
last on your list, romantically?
three spaces between us rather than two

within the confines of your affections,
you use me more often than others,
the citation referred to the most
and yet?

you nearly plagiarize me
with little or no credit

when it comes to expressing your love.

I got started on hanging indent, investigated further,
whoa, finding another wondrous script in love's blues.

Regards,
Al

thank you for your kind words, Al.

After all, your words are pretty good--exquisite, actually.
Non-pros will always appropriate them.
As for being last on her romance list, at least, you made the list.
Work to be admired, J.

If you are an afterthought to someone who headlines your thoughts, well, it is time to rethink things. Words do not mean a thing if they are not backed up with actions. Lydi**

MLA or APA, i suppose plagiarism is taxing in any form.

MLA.....:))))
yes, it is.
Jacob,

you have penned a most witty piece of poetry here, making the most of your profession as an English teacher ... This poem may have been written merely for fun or sudden inspiration, but if it was penned out of a real life relationship that is lacking in fair treatment for you, then, whomever it is directed towards, I doubt they get the message as your satirical use of words that relate to English and proper typing will likely zoom right over her head with her mouth agape ... Love it! ...

Very clever poem. The way you used the metaphor conjured up a vivid picture. Love, 'you nearly plagiarize me, with little or no credit.'

Not being American I am unsure if a 'hanging indent' is worse that a 'hanging chad' Jacob?
Never-the-less you once more take the metaphor and create a cordon bleu dish of a poem that provokes much thinking. Maybe a love poem or one about daffodils next? Lol
