what figures

what figures

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

what figures

you were a happy inconvenience

and i your disastrous moment of bliss

we met on a stormy night

with a full moon dividing our secrets

into a single remainder

that was a reminder

of that elusive quotient of love

each of us shared with a different mayhem

but chaotically together

with disturbingly delirious outcome.

When the insanity of two individuals comes together, there is no telling what will happen. No matter how much passion there is, the combination often results in disaster. A lot has to do with timing. Perhaps the same two people at a different time would work. Lydi**

It's usually the morning AFTER the morning after - that we try to make sense out of the sheer unreality that couldn't possibly have happened... but by the second time - who cares?

You craft words and phrases with engineering precision Jacob. The pictures that flow from your mirrors of metaphors are simply enjoyable.

you are a kind poet, John,
thank you for your words,

Admire the creative imagery and smart word play.
You wield those numerical operations expertly; metaphorical insights, even better.
Just a great read!

Some people just aren't meant for us, are they? We may even know it up front, but it doesn't stop us because we feel driven to partake of what they have to offer.
