Bless me Father for...A Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoBless me Father for....
do you
remember the transistor a static top forty kisses on the stone outside your house, where our lips met like
melting lava
and our knees wobbled
like a crushed mountain of molten feeling
the songs played deep
into the night the batteries seemed to
last forever when we were young and
restless and synchronized like a
perfect weather pattern
our sun shining across a
moonlit sky music in the stars of
youth breathless pauses
as we mouthed the words
silently in our breasts love was a hit played on an endless
jukebox of teenage
temptation
that wondrous confession we looked forward to each and every Saturday
night.
