A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

casting apologies

today's wishful thinking

becomes a tomorrowful thought

in yesterday's cadence

letting out poetic line

you run with my affections

a rhythm's lure, sounding the heart

like a small mouth bass

to dive to the depths

before the gambol

towards a love's sky water

today's wishful thinking

baiting the clouds into striking

i'll set the hook,

if i ever get you to bite

on the softness of my shame.

This has a sadness stitched into the seam Jacob. As romance beckons in a smoke filled room of words you use your skill with the metaphor to fan the flames knowing fire can kill but the flame can also die!
