I seek my peace with what I've got,
Fingertips fly, but tongue does not!
Ahhhh, there's the rub...
" The eyes meet in a stutter"- home-run line! Love this poetic expression- perfect in all it's parts.
I have not experienced spoken word poetry, but have had the "pleasure " of public speaking at times. Your written words speak volumes!

I spent many years doing Blues Poetry with a Clarinetist friend Eric Mandat---he is an amazing musician, and it was always fun performing with him...I would hope soon we get to do it again...he wasn't background music for the poetry, we played off each other.
thanks again,

I love this poem because it complicates that space between spoken word poetry and written poetry. A difference persists between various forms of enunciation of a poem, and it discusses these elements pretty well.
i can relate to this on the bases of my stage fright... it is never easy to overcome that, it takes long process of practice... anyways, i like this piece on which i could relate, my friend, its been long... well done...
I think many will relate to your words Jacob - I know I do. Thoughts flow on paper, even when we become a bit tongue tied. Always a pleasure to read you :) Julie
Though I am no poet and certainly not an old one 😉 still I can relate to this. My audio utters weird noises totally indistinguishable to be counted as normal speech when I really want to voice my feelings.. Something which I have no difficulty in writing over text... Tongue tied is the word alright..
I also think that it's the other way round too. Like those who are good with voicing it aren't as good in writing it down.. Seems like we get one at a time...
That was a nice reflective piece, Jacob. Made me think...

Sometimes our thoughts and feelings simply cannot be put into words that properly describe what goes on behind our eyes and between our ears ... Time has its way of complicating this reality ...
