missed connections

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

missed connections

i feel ravenous for your voices
the telephone lies silent
on your end there is just an outlet
no wiring, no attachment

you fly free
and i am chained to only the solace
that your clouds float above the rain now

yet my sunny sky
no longer has sound,
and feels empty

                                                              without it.

Honest words and thoughts led the reader to sad ending.
"yet my sunny sky
no longer has sound,
and feels empty"
I do understand the above lines. When love and kindness is faraway. The day seem less brighter. Thank you Jacob for sharing the amazing poetry.

I love your work and you are welcome.
Aloha Jacob, silence can be incredibly painful and the longing it creates can break you. Your first line is so strong and speaks to that longing feeling. Izzy

this one feels like being stuck under a wet and heavy blanket ... if only the warm sunshine would dry it out so the narrator too could be free ...

well done Jacob X

The longing in this one is palpable. Waiting for that phone to ring. Trying to be happy for the one you love even if that love is not reciprocated. Powerful emotions in this one. Lydi**

this is so beautifully written, your words, vividly captured the achingness of one succumbed into a resignation of some sort.

the imagery and dictation you weaved into this, truly lingers in the reader's heart.

The silence and hollow reality of someone leaving you bereft as they move on is embodied in this one for me Jacob.

when you lose someone you loved deeply, even sunny days feel empty without their voice... your poem leaves us feeling this emptiness as we read it...
